The Data STORY Worksheet

Where this comes from. The five elements and seventeen steps are Figure 1 of Lindsey Wylie's "Cultivating a Court's Data STORY," NCSC Trends in State Courts (2025), and the guidance under each step condenses that article. The objectives follow the Conference of State Court Administrators (2024), and the expertise ladder, novice through trustee or funder, follows Tabak and colleagues (2013). The format list and the expertise ladder are shared with the format picker, so the two tools always agree.
